Grace Yum, DDS

 

Dr. Yum is one of the most high profile pediatric dentists in Chicago.  Since developing Yummy Dental and Orthodontics, NBC Chicago, Whole Foods Markets, and many leading Chicago schools and mommy groups have selected her to discuss the secrets of good nutrition and healthy smiles.  She has been featured nationally in Parents Magazine, Parenting Magazine, and locally in Chicago Parent Magazine as one of the best and most fun pediatric dentists in Chicago. She is currently on staff to perform surgeries at Children’s Memorial Hospital, where she also received her pediatric training.  During her education, Dr. Yum earned her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She was then awarded her doctorate from the University of Maryland, home of the first dental school in the world. Dr. Yum stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of pediatric dentistry by being active in numerous of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Chicago Dental Society.

Dr. Yum believes very strongly in the power of philanthropy. She donates her time by being on her church’s medical team and also has her own charity, Yummy Smiles, which provides dental care to needy children in the Chicago area. She routinely is invited to speak in leading Chicago schools, in front of mommy groups, and to groups of dental residents. She is also working on a children’s book about going to the dentist, and has recently been selected as an editorial advisor for the children’s book series “What Do They Do?” to be released in the fall of 2010. Dr. Yum is a lifelong resident of the Chicago area; she grew up in Glenview and went to college in Evanston. She and her husband, Kent Zimmermann, live in Chicago.
